Course Overview
Digital Entertainment is a specialized course for students with a career interest in Digital Entertainment. In addition to a business overview, this course is designed to provide student with an understanding of advertising, sales, event marketing, and communications. Major areas that will be covered are the new product introduction (NPI) process as it pertains to digital entertainment including games, interactive content, TV and movie licensing, branding, operations, and strategic partnerships.

The Digital Entertainment Business Development Program has a primary focus of teaching students to obtain an understanding of career options available within the fields of digital entertainment. This course is "hands on" and project driven, designed to give students opportunities to learn what it would be like to work in digital entertainment industries.
Course Objectives
  • The primary objective of this program is to facilitate your professional growth into the digital entertainment world of Digital Entertainment Business Development.
  • To equip the student with the technical knowledge and skills vital for success in vocational endeavors.
Course Prerequisites

Software & application knowledge:

Windows, FTP, Files and folders, Email, Chat, Windows media, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project is preferred, but not required.


Skill-sets:
In-depth knowledge of Video Game Development or 3D Animation, as well as streaming media, or in-depth knowledge of the software development cycle and sales channels. You will need basic PC skills, Microsoft Office software skills, knowledge of computers and a better than average understanding of the Internet, chat and email.
